I have been painting for what seems like an eternity. The detail and little background bits on this series can be a bit of a trial and now having just completed # 4 my eyes hurt.
Here we go, bad photographs (sorry for that) but I never said I could take pictures, did I?
Just one more to go if the people I want to display them with like it- fingers crossed.
Hello James. It is ages since I heard from you. I hope all is well in the northern reaches. Thanks for the kind comment; it is good to know what other folk think as it can be difficult to gauge when working alone.
That is so kind of you. I know it sounds a bit sad, but sometimes I need to hear things like this as it can be quite lonely working alone and never being quite sure whether all is good.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. It is always a bit worrying when starting a new project (my son thought painting more than one was a bit mad) so it is good to hear what folk 'outside' think.
I am interested in your favourite as it has influenced what the 5th will be. I was playing with the idea of a lower sun, but think you are right and will go with a higher one instead. I am a bit worried the eye-hurt is not concentration but my age. I have always said I wouldn't mind having to wear glasses but am told they can be a real pain (and expensive).
They're spectacular. Are you hoping to sell them individually, or as a series? They're very attractive, so you shouldn't have any problem selling them.
Absolutely beautiful stuff Bella. :)

DeleteHi Bella, I'm sure they will be accepted, they are really really good. You have an individual style you can be proud of.

DeleteOh I'm sure they will Bella, they're beautiful! I love the shapes of the trees and the different textures.

DeleteI hope the gallery takes your sun series-I think they are absolutely stunning and will look superb as a sequence. Bravo.

ReplyDeleteHello Valda and thank you for your kind comment.
DeleteI am hoping to sell them individually but as they follow on from one another someone might just want two.
The Galleries in Freshford haven't contacted me again yet so thanks for the reminder. I will send them a gentle nudge.
